Woodland Excellence

Woodland Elementary School takes pride in celebrating the 2024 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Bernetta Johnson, and Educational Support Person for 2024, Mr. Bryan Smith.

Woodland Elementary School was recognized by the Georgia Department of Education for outstanding literacy growth in third and fifth grade.  The school was awarded a Georgia’s Literacy Leaders Banner.

 

At Woodland Elementary School, students are provided a myriad of opportunities to positively engage with their peers, faculty, and staff for extracurricular activities.  Our students can choose from a menu of activities that are tailored to the various learning styles and interest levels. 

Woodland Elementary School has been recognized by Henry Schools for Georgia Milestones Performance Bright Spots for double digit gains in third grade reading by 12 points, fifth grade reading by 22 points, and fifth grade ELA by 13 points.

Woodland Elementary School promotes a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the diverse instructional needs of all students.  One of Woodland Elementary School’s core beliefs is all students learn differently. In our inclusive classrooms, teachers weave in specially designed instruction and support.

The intentional partnership between Woodland Elementary, Woodland Middle, and Woodland High School is the cornerstone of ensuring our students, educators, parents, and community stakeholders see the fundamental vision of “one band and one sound”.
